this is haruki, as provided in basic statistics. >>>

>>> haruki is a somewhat temperamental, coffee loving writer who's always got her ears plugged into music. Born in New York City but raised in greater Los Angeles County, she's left her heart behind in the chaos of Manhattan, swearing to return with dreams and the requisite skills to build herself her own little niche in her city of smoke and noise and life. She wants to skip across the world, eating the summations of different peoples and hearing everything there is to hear, and, as a means to get around the world and back again, she's currently writing too many short stories and novella because a novel spans too long for the width of her attention.

On grey days, she seeks the free therapy of her kitchen, the smell of freshly baked anythings working as a defibrillator to set her mired brain back into motion, and she likes to bury her nose in different cultures, traces the industry of media with more than vague curiosity, and finds her greatest annoyance in the cacophony of synthetic sounds. A finely honed cynic and skeptic, she indulges in the privilege of different perspectives, and, a closet romantic, she'd like to believe in the possibility of her own happily ever. She has something of an addictive personality but tends to burn through curiosities at a quick rate, latching on only when deep interest is swayed, and, though she'd like to make claims to mystery and unpredictability, she's a fairly predictable tangle of contradictions.

haruki finds her education in the Russians and the Brits, existentialism and the absurd, and the infinite boundaries of language. She thinks in the past and lives in the future, her inspiration grounded in the classical tradition of her childhood and fed by acoustic folk and symphonic rock; she believes in living in the details and in learning everything that can be learned, remembered, and adapted; and she knows the girl she wants to be and is currently seeking her way there.
